ROYAL UNITED HOSPITAL BATH - FOREVER FRIENDS APPEAL

RUH FOREVER FRIENDS APPEAL ART 4 LIFE AUCTION

Anthony took part in the Bath Open Art Fair '2nd Art for Life' Art Fair by donating a piece of artwork (see opposite).

The art fair took place within the beautiful setting of Green Park Station, Bath, from May 20th to June 1st, 2008, inclusive.

The event was held for the Forever Friends Appeal’s NICU ‘space to grow’ campaign to build a new sustainable Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Bath's Royal United Hospital and Anthony's artwork raised £210 for the appeal. Thank you to everyone who participated.

December 15th, 2005 - Anthony announces the start of a fundraiser for the Royal United Hospital Bath's Forever Friends Appeal, by autographing a limited number of programmes from the Jamie Cullum 'Live on the Rec' concert that was held in July 2005.

These autographed programmes are available for a donation of £25 or more to the Forever Friends Appeal. This appeal is open to global participation and credit cards will be accepted.

This is a great opportunity to own this limited edition signed programme and help the Forever Friends Appeal. Anthony is a Patron of the Royal United Hospital Appeal. The fundraiser will be ongoing while supplies last. For more information please go to the fundraiser page.

October 14th, 2005 - The Royal United Hospital held Ted's Big 'Do Without' Challenge. This event was supported by Anthony who is a Forever Friends Appeal Vice President. Anthony brought the event centre stage by taking his teddy bear for a day out at the Theatre Royal in Bath, to kick off the final countdown in style and encourage yet more people to take part.

July 31st 2005 - Anthony was the Master of Ceremonies, and sang with Clare Teal, at the Royal United Hospital's  'Jamie Cullum Live on the Rec' concert, which was held to raise funds towards a second state-of-the-art CT Scanner. To view photos from the concert, please go to Gallery 1.

February 14th, 2005 - Anthony holds a photo shoot at the Royal United Hospital Bath's Forever Friends Appeal office. January 1st - 29th, 2005 - Anthony holds an online charity auction for two Valentine phone calls, raising £1650 for the Royal United Hospital Bath's Forever Friends Appeal.

THEATRE ROYAL BATH'S 'THE EGG APPEAL' AUCTION

October 7th - December 4th, 2004 - Anthony and Sarah hold an online charity auction, for the 'Giles' glasses worn by Anthony in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', raising £1000 for the Theatre Royal Bath's *The Egg Young People's Theatre.

ANIMAL WELFARE

July 16th, 2011 - Anthony and his partner, Sarah Fisher, open the kennels for GIA (Group Initiative for Animals) dog adoption centre in Romania. Photo here.

March 2011 - Anthony designed a dog collar in aid of the Kennel Club Charitable Trust.

August 11th, 2010 - Anthony opened Paignton Zoo’s new amphibian conservation centre. To find out more about the zoo, go to Paignton Zoo Environmental Park.

August 1st, 2010 - Anthony attended the Dogs Trust Salisbury Open Day, with his partner, Sarah Fisher.

CHIMP ADOPTION

June 2010 - Anthony has adopted Naika, an abused circus chimp, through the charity Care for the Wild International (CWI).

The money raised through the charity's chimp adoption scheme goes to fund the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, Kenya, where Naika now lives. For more information please visit the CWI *website.

December 12th, 2009 -   Anthony and his partner, Sarah Fisher, open the new Dogs Trust shop in Salisbury Wiltshire.

July 12th,  2009 - Anthony kick started a fund raising project for the *Irish Horse Welfare Trust.

July 2008 - Anthony became a Patron of Tradissar RDA Group.

March 1st  -  29th, 2008 - Anthony and Sarah hold an online auction for Tilley Farm Trust, auctioning a telephone call from Anthony. £500 is raised for the charity.

October 20th - November 24th, 2007 - Anthony and Sarah hold an online auction for a rescued hedgehog enclosure at Tilley Farm, auctioning a horseshoe worn by their horse, Otto, in a Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode. £260 is raised towards the project.

July 1st, 2007 - Anthony's donation of a painting of Archie the Lurcher, to the Sight Hounds Online summer fundraising auction, raises £259. Proceeds from the auction will go to *The Greyhound Sanctuary and *Tailends. For more information please visit the Sight Hounds online *website.

December 14th, 2006 - Anthony and Sarah attend the Blue Cross Christmas Carol concert which was held at St Peter's Church, Eaton Square, London. All money raised on the night went towards helping The Blue Cross care for sick and abandoned animals in London and the UK.

December 2006 - Anthony becomes a Patron of *Secret World.

July 6th, 2006 - Anthony and his partner, Sarah Fisher, took part in the Cats Protection Rescue Cat of the Year Awards 2006, judging and presenting the 'Best Friends' category. The winner was 'Magic' from Reading.

March 21st 2005 - Anthony and Sarah start an online fundraiser for *'The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust' Make Poverty History Campaign, by selling white rosettes signed by Anthony.

November 28th, 2004 - Anthony and Sarah donate a limited edition signed prototype 'Giles' action figure to the Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue Centre's fundraising auction. For more information on the Centre, please visit the Hereford and Worcester *website.

November 5th, 2004 - Anthony becomes a Patron of the donkey rescue charity, 'Safe Haven for Donkeys in the Holy Land'.

November 2004 - Anthony and Sarah started an online fundraiser for 'Safe Haven for Donkeys in the Holy Land'. All proceeds from the fundraiser were used for the health care needs of rescued donkeys in Israel, and donations over £10.00 received a certificate of thanks signed by Anthony. A total of £1500 was raised.

April 10th - May 15th, 2004 - Anthony and Sarah hold an Online Auction for the shirt worn by Anthony in the 'Pirates of Penzance' stage production. £470 is raised for the Bunningham Palace rescue rabbit enclosure located at Tilley Farm.

April 22nd, 2004 - Anthony and Sarah judge the Cat Photographic Competition for the Holly Hedge Sanctuary cat garden roof fundraiser. The winner is Zukie. For more information on the work of Holly Hedge please visit their *website.

The Cats Protection Rescue Cat of the Year Award 2004 ceremony was held on March 31st, 2004, at The Savoy, London. This award is open to cats rescued as strays by their current owner, or felines adopted from any animal welfare organisation.

Anthony and Sarah chose Chrissie as the winning cat in the "Best Friends" category. Chrissie was also overall rescue cat of 2004. For more information on Cats Protection please visit their *website.

December 13th - January 8th, 2004 - Anthony and Sarah hold a "Tea with Tony" Online Charity Auction on the Official Site. £2760 is raised towards an Isolation Unit at *HorseWorld in Bristol.

November 2003 - Anthony becomes a Patron of China Bear Rescue Support Group, South Gloucestershire, in aid of the Animals Asia Foundation. For more information, and pictures, please visit the China bear page.

July 2003 - Anthony records an informational video to be played at the HorseWorld Rescue Centre's facility. The video is now on sale in the *Visitor Centre. It is approximately 15 minutes in length and is priced at £4.99 for an unsigned copy, and £15.00 for a signed copy. HorseWorld is located near Bristol, and directions are listed on their website.

June 2003 - Anthony and Sarah sponsor a Kennel Webcam at the Mayhew Animal Home.

February 28th, 2003 - Sarah and Anthony attend a dinner dance and celebrity quiz fundraiser for the *Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre, at Haydock Park Racecourse.

October 2002 - Sarah and Anthony donate land to the Julie Baker-Currie Wild Animal Welfare Trust.

September 1st, 2002 - Anthony supports the *International League for the Protection of Horses (now World Horse Welfare) in their campaign to stop the live transportation of horses for slaughter in Europe by handing in a Report at 10 Downing St, London.

January 7th, 2002 - Anthony attends Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre as they hold their first fund-raising event.

November 9th, 2001 - Anthony is guest at a Halloween party in Bath, presenting prizes. Funds were raised for future events.

May 12th 2011 - Anthony agrees to become a Patron of *Somerset Levels RDA Carriage-Driving Group.

>> June 18th - July 30th, 2011 - Anthony auctioned his Rocky Horror Tour Jacket to the highest bidder. The winning bid was £1800. All the proceeds from this fundraiser went to the *Get Thomas to America campaign.

>> March 12th - April 9th, 2011 - Anthony and his daughter, Daisy, auctioned a 20 minute phone call, with Anthony, to the highest bidder. The winning bid was £1893. All the proceeds from this fundraiser went to the *Mental Health Foundation

>> December 6th, 2010 - Anthony did a reading at the Breast Cancer Care 'Carol Service by Candlelight' at St Paul’s Church, Knightsbridge, London. For more information on Breast Cancer Care please visit their *website.

>> June 1st, 2010 - Anthony is backing a charity campaign that aims to help children who wet the bed. The annual Banish the Wee Horror campaign has been launched by family charity Education and Resources for Improving Childhood Continence (Eric). >> December 22nd, 2009 - Anthony became a celebrity ambassador for the 'A Night Less Ordinary' scheme. 'A Night Less Ordinary' was an Arts Council England scheme that provided more than half a million free theatre tickets to anyone under 26, in over 200 theatre venues across England, between February 2009 and March 2011. October 9th, 2009 - Anthony is featured on the new Universal Records release, ’Words For You’, a magical new audio CD that features the greatest poets of all time. A proportion of the proceeds from sales will go to I CAN, the children’s communication charity, helping all children develop speech, language and communication skills.

16th August, 2009 - Anthony donated a signed black leather jacket, worn in VR5, and letter, to the Aliens in the Attic Auction for The Children's Society. The jacket raised £112.25 for the charity.

The Children’s Society is a leading children’s charity committed to making childhood better for all children in the UK. It delivers immediate and lasting help to thousands of often desperate children who feel excluded, abandoned or in danger. >> 17th May 2008 - Anthony and his partner, Sarah Fisher, appear on 'Celebrity Mr and Mrs', raising £5000 for the Max Appeal

>> PAINT FOR POVERTY

19th May - 13th October 2007 - Anthony took part in the celebrity art auction for Paint 4 Poverty. Paint 4 Poverty is a new initiative from Robin Hood Ministries (RHM) in partnership with Prime Arts.

Prime Arts sent canvasses and paints to 200 celebrities and asked them to, quite literally, 'Paint 4 Poverty'. The canvasses were auctioned on Saturday, 13th October, 2007, in Bath, following a week long exhibition.

Anthony's painting sold for £950. The overall total raised by the auction was £36,000.

>> ANTHONY BECOMES PATRON OF MAX APPEAL

10th July 2006 - Anthony has become a Patron of Max Appeal. Max Appeal are a young vibrant charity concerned with kids affected by a problem which 10 years ago had no name. Kids were just treated for a variety of conditions until one day an American doctor noticed there was a similarity in some conditions. Di George syndrome was recognised! Work on the human genome has advanced things greatly. Max Appeal help families and internationally draw together the work of professionals concerned with this topic.

December 15th, 2005 - Anthony participated in the Bristol Lord Mayor's Christmas Toy Appeal.

February 2005 - Anthony has joined forces with the Bath Police and leading energy supplier SWEB Energy to show the red card to distraction burglars and help tackle the nation’s “hidden crime.”

Bath and North East Somerset is to pioneer the new “nominated neighbour” scheme which is sponsored by SWEB Energy and aims to take head-on the scourge of the elderly and vulnerable – the distraction burglar. For more information please visit our Avon and Somerset Constabulary page.

March 31st, 2004 - Anthony appeared in a sketch at the Albert Hall, London, as part of a charity event. The show, The Cream of British Comedy hosted by Alan Partridge, was part of a week of charity fundraising events to raise money for Roger Daltrey's Teenage Cancer Trust. February 24th, 2001 - Anthony and Sarah contact the Friends of Chernobyl's Children (UK) offering financial support when it was revealed that the charity was setting up a branch in Bath. Two children affected by the Chernobyl nuclear plant explosion were able to come to Bath.

The Famous Rainbow Recipe Book, is a cookbook with eighty-eight recipes from British celebrities, compiled by Anthony Head and Sarah Fisher to benefit the Rainbow Centre.

June 10th, 1998 - Anthony and a number of stars from Casualty take part in Celebrity skittles to raise money for the Rainbow Centre for children with cancer and life threatening illnesses.

August 24th, 1996 - Anthony added his palm-print to a rainbow of children's hands at a toy shop in Bath, to raise funds for the Rainbow Centre in Bristol which cares for children with life-threatening illnesses.
