The Rainbow Centre for Children with Cancer and Life-Threatening Illnesses in Bristol, is situated at 27 Lilymead Avenue, Bristol, BS4 2BY

The Centre supports children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and their families, using counselling and complementary therapies. They also provide bereavement counselling for children.

The centre is situated in a quiet residential area, providing a haven of peace for children and their families suffering from the effects of a life threatening illness or death in the family. The spacious house provides the facilities needed to take on the difficult and demanding work that is carried out which includes counselling, homoeopathic consultations, art and play therapy, relaxation and massage.

The well-being of children is the focus of the Rainbow Centre, and play and art therapy provides a safe means to explore their difficult feelings and fears.

The Rainbow Centre also provides support for the parents, some of whom benefit from counselling, relaxation groups or some of the other complementary therapies available.

Those who need the help of the Rainbow Centre receive it free of charge, thus avoiding the added stress that additional financial pressure brings. The Rainbow Centre's doors are open to those living anywhere in the UK.  They can be contacted on 0117-985-3343, emailed at the Rainbow Centre, or visit the Rainbow Centre website. For more information on Childhood Cancer resources visit the UK Children's Cancer Resource Directory.

The Famous Rainbow Recipe Book, contains eighty-eight recipes from British celebrities, compiled by Tony Head and Sarah Fisher to benefit the Rainbow Centre, in celebration of the life of Erin Palmer Lund. Published by Ashgrove Press, ISBN 1-85398-076-5, 1995, paperback, 128 pages.

Description (from book): "Erin Palmer Lund died on 15th June 1994. She was three years old and had been fighting cancer for two years. Shortly after Erin's cancer was diagnosed, her mother, Cynthia, was put in contact with families faced with the prospect of losing a child. The Centre offers Counselling, Homoeopathy, Aromatherapy, and much needed support but as a charitable organisation is desperately under-funded. In Erin's memory we are assisting the Rainbow Centre with its fundraising, so that it can continue with its vital work. Erin has changed our lives. Please help us to help others by keeping The Rainbow Centre open. -- Tony Head and Sarah Fisher."
